What are seconds & extras?
Second and extras are perfectly imperfect pieces that I’ve decided to sell at a discount. Often, these pieces have a warped rim, a slight glaze defect, a small crack in the base, or simply were an experimental glaze combination that I just wasn’t thrilled with and don’t want to add to my repertoire. Sometimes it’s older work that I am hoping to move out of my studio to make way for new pieces.
These pieces are still perfectly functional and useable, but are sold at a discount. You can browse the seconds and extras I have available below.

Each bowl is lovingly thrown on the potter’s wheel with speckled stoneware clay, making every one unique. It’s microwave- and oven-safe, and dishwasher friendly too (though a little hand-wash TLC will help it last for years to come).

PLEASE NOTE: The inside of this bowl has a few pinholes in the glaze that you can see in the photos below. Pinholes are glaze defects that happen due to a variety of reasons, in this case it’s likely because the glaze was layered too thickly. Since this is a defect, I consider this a “second” therefore it is sold at a discount. I consider pinholes to simply be a visual defect and not a food safety concern, however there are those out there that believe that the small holes can harbor bacteria from food.
