Handcarved Sgraffito Vase

This one-of-a-kind vase is a labor of love. Each band of pattern is hand-carved using the sgraffito technique, a process where layers of glaze are carefully scratched away to reveal the raw clay beneath, creating intricate geometric and organic designs that wrap all the way around the piece. No two are ever exactly alike.

Finished in a striking combination of speckled white and deep glossy black, the contrast between the carved clay and the rich glaze makes every detail pop. It's the kind of piece that stops people mid-conversation.

Thrown on the potter's wheel from speckled stoneware clay and 100% handmade. Suitable for use as a decorative vase or dried flower vessel. Hand-washing recommended.

The beauty of handmade means that no two pieces are exactly alike. Each of my pieces are completely handmade by me, meaning there may be slight variations in the shape, size, color, and finish of the items from what you see in the photographs. I strive to represent each piece as accurately as possible. These variations are very small and may not be noticeable–if they are though, please know that they are not flaws, but are part of what makes each item unique.
